Meet The JCMC Team

We put on our black lab coats and our masks as to not be seen (or heard) as our fingerprints should not be detected and then, we fight the devious frequencies that have clouded judgement for as long as the phallic tools of audio reproduction have committed them to life. Short of the engineers at JCM wearing the masks (well maybe sometimes) we think that sounds about right.

Joćo Carvalho started mastering records in 1994. During the early to mid nineties Joćo was recording and producing many independent records that realistically, could not afford to be mastered at the big mastering facilities in the US. Feeling adventurous, Joćo decided to take on some indie mastering duties at his then studio, Umbrella Sound.

Honing in on his mastering skills, Joćo quickly became one of the "go to" guys in the country for mastering records affordably. Years past, lots of records were mastered and it was now time to take a leap of faith into a world class mastering facility. In 2003, Joćo opened the doors to his new mastering facility, Joćo Carvalho Mastering.

Since then, Joćo has received critical acclaim for both his work and facility and has worked with Legendary artists, producers, engineers and record companies. Joćo strives to be at his absolute best on each album he masters and does not rest until there is 100% satisfaction on all counts. Joćo lives in Toronto Canada with his partner Liane, daughters Sara and Poeme and his son Charles.
