Meet The JCMC Team

"Upon entering the room, one feels that great art has been realized here before. One senses that the ghosts of wunderous recordings are sitting on the walls of the studio cheering on the new-comer. The electricity fuels our aural sense and inspires our quest for audio greatness. We put on our black lab coats and our masks as to not be seen (or heard) as our fingerprints should not be detected and then, we fight the devious frequencies that have clouded judgement for as long as the phallic tools of audio reproduction have committed them to life. Whoa." - Author Witheld

Short of the engineers at JCM wearing the masks (well maybe sometimes) we think that sounds about right.

From consistently creating great sounding masters to being efficient and timely on deliveries of final media to any location on the globe, the friendly staff at João Carvalho Mastering make the whole mastering experience painless from start to finish. No question is too small and no task is too large. We are always available to assist you .

Charles Carvalho
Mastering Engineer

A true "jack of all trades", Charles has had his hands in all different aspects of music and production during his tenure at JCMC. Starting off as an intern, Charles worked alongside many talented engineers and producers, picking up tricks and techniques from many of the top names in the industry; including his father Joao. As they say; like father, like son.

Charles has worked with many different artists, spanning most genres and styles of music, including; AlexisOnFire, Pilate, Gregory Hoskins, The Tragically Hip, Danny Michel, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra to mention a few. Whether it's mastering records, recording bands or repairing a vital piece of gear, Charles knows what to do, what not to do and, most importantly, how to get the job done right.

Charles is also a life time musician, having played drums on numerous albums and performing in bands as both a drummer and a guitarist, his current gig being for Toronto's Electronic/Rock group "These Electric Lives" as the backbone (drummer). He has also been working alongside hi-fi audio guru David Miller of Airfield Audio in building Dave's new "Liminator" Compressors.
